Add-on License Fields for TTL Students
If you would like to add licensure fields to your initial license, you can do that either during your HGSE year or at any point after graduation. Pursuing add-on license fields is optional and is not supported financially through HGSE.
To add on a licensure field, you must:
- Pass the required MTEL(s) for the additional subject area(s) - $139 each
- Apply in ELAR for the initial license(s) in your additional subject area(s) - $25 each
- Complete any additional requirements associated with your additional subject area(s). Please contact the Licensure Team for specifics.
During the fall semester, the Licensure Team will host a Zoom session covering the requirements and processes for add-on licenses.
Moving to another state?
Plan ahead! Licensure requirements vary by state, and additional examinations, coursework, or other requirements may be needed to qualify for licensure outside of Massachusetts. If you anticipate applying for licensure in another state, we encourage you to contact Sami early in the academic year to discuss your plans.
